The AAA has launched an “Anthropology Watch” program tracker to document how colleges and universities are reassessing academic programs amid financial pressures, shifting enrollments, and institutional restructuring. The tracker aims to monitor changes to academic anthropology programs such as admissions pauses, mergers, faculty reductions, and, in some cases, program closures.
